OVERVIEW
Brenlynn is one of the most popular girls in school. She's the head cheerleader and all the girls at school envy her. Little do they know that she envies them more. She envies the lives they have outside of school. Everybody's perception of Brenlynn is mistaken, clouded. At school, Brenlynn is everything. At home, Brenlynn is nothing. She is constantly abused, physically and verbally, by her father, while her mother stands aside and lets it happen. Nobody knows what goes on at home. She doesn't have bruises anyone can see, and if she does, she makes excuses if anyone sees them. Brenlynn doesn't know how to change things at home. She's just glad she has school as an escape, otherwise, she doesn't know how she would survive. Brenlynn would gladly give up her popularity if that meant the life she had at home would be like everyone else's.
When Brenlynn meets the new guy, Spencer, at drama club, she feels that somehow he can save her. She starts spending more and more time with him and something begins to blossom between them. Not only does Brenlynn start to fall for Spencer, but she begins to gain more courage to face her hurtful home life.
Clouded Perception
Sometimes what's on the outside is hiding the hurt on the inside. Popularity isn't everthing. Brenlynn would know.
