I Hate Poetry
This is a collection of poetry geared to readers who hate poetry, or at least, think they hate poetry. We're primarily looking for light, humorous poems but will consider other poems if they would appeal to someone with no poetry reading skills or background. We are also very interested in poems that make fun of poetry or poets, including poems that satirize poems or poetry styles. This book will be published in 2010. Level4 Press, Inc. pays one copy of the finished anthology per poem accept

GIVE FEEDBACK
I agree with Legoiste and HS. The first batch I had in here for the sake of just joining in, I watched them be speedily erased when you came to look at them along with everyone else's that didn't get through. It seemed lengthy poems and subject matter that might appeal to adults were erased within seconds.
As an experiment I carefully composed and added a number of poems specifically mocking poetry and styles, which got very good reviews here and elsewhere, and I read every other sub - many of which also received good reviews.
When you came to look at them next, and I saw the first rejection come through as expected. I quickly sat and watched perhaps a good twenty of these be erased within seconds of each other - perhaps just getting a quick glance that would determine if they were what you needed.
Fair enough, it is your project, but this does suggest, as they have said here, that your criterion might be clearer and indeed indicate what you are looking for is for a certain younger audience. I won't, I'm sure you might be happy to hear, be participating again.

I think you should clarify your criterion. This anthology is for a younger audience - isn't it? Just like your other project is (and where most of your choices have been geared towards simplicity and just completely four liner unfunny ridiculous).
You have consistently rejected any number of sophisticated poems and authors from here that meet the requirement above and beyond (and yes, more-so I'm sorry to say, than a number of those which you have selected so far). Hardly any of these actually satirise poets, poetry or suggest appeal to anyone who would actually hate poetry - even those who want to hate it for fun.
Good luck with it, but in my opinion, this book, apparently for joke purposes, will not be a funny one and neither (so far anyway) will the modern poems anthology. Sorry, but just speaking the truth as I see it.

Beerman -- thank you for exhorting us to vent our spleens.

I absolutely love this project, and I consider myself a poet. You make not realize this, but you're making poets step back and take a look at the nonsensical things we are all guilty of such as angsty poems, children's song rhymes, and cliche metaphors. In a sense, you're improving the quality of poetry. Plus, the poems make me laugh.
Write On!
Write On!
This is really fun, but sadly, i cannot submit any, because i don't entirely hate poetry. Would it be alright if i just gave feedback and stuff?
Beerman, mine are all parodies of genres that I feel are full of 'bad' poems, or are attempts to be clever that don't quite come off, or use cliches and borrowed bits and pieces.
Ok I'm confused, is this project to show how disgruntled we get with poetry. If it is why are people just writing normal poems. I say vent your spleen people, rise up and show why you hate poetry or the very least dislike it strongly from time to time.

:D I definitely don't really like poetry. :D I mean, I like it- it gives expression that you look like a loon if you say it in prose- but I'm tired of mucking around with it and getting a uesless thing for my efforts, even after using a rhyming website. :D
