Impact
'Pools of Red' was inspired by the poem 'Success is counted sweetest' by Emily Dickinson and focuses on how a soldier might feel after winning a battle.
I wrote 'Jig-saw' after seeing puzzle pieces scattered on a pavement outside my school. The pieces seemed almost sad and lonely in the open space on the ground and so the poem was formed.

Beautiful style. The themes are all interesting, especially "Jig-Saw," which takes a random observation and compares it to the state of the speaker's soul. Although the change to the last stanza is a bit abrupt and perhaps the connection between the puzzle pieces and the shattered soul can be hinted at earlier in the poem, or otherwise the stanza sounds detached from the rest of the poem, although I get your intention.
"Pools of Red" has strong imagery, like the "violent dagger in his mind" and the "burning surge of white flame." These capture the inner turmoil. The first two lines seem weak, in contrast with the rest, which is more complete, especially the second. The last two lines, on the other hand, are the heart of the poem, what every other verse has been leading up to.
"Stranger" is great, and it expands on a similar theme in a very concrete manner, yet maintaining the use of imagery.
Great work. I invite you to read my submissions:

Nice emotion within a common and important theme. It's a yes! If you'd care to review mine, look up "Destini's Trifecta". Good luck!
