Science-fiction, fantasy and horror are the most imaginative of all genres. Whether it's aliens visiting us in peace or with hostile intentions; knights and wizards fighting or traveling with dragons and other fairy-tale creatures; or legions of demons, werewolves and vampires preying on humans, these genres possess and share a unique - perhaps immortal - mythology dating back to the dawn of ancient civilization and continuing right through the present. They've haunted us as children and continue to stay within our memories, as the themes and motifs used in those genres are continuously expressed, either separately or together, in our post-modern culture via the latest in literature, poetry, music, cinema, television, radio, comic books and other media.
This composition, KASTROLITRO, an anthology of poems, essays and short stories in those genres, is a huge collaboration of the Scifanhors - devoted fans of these three particular genres - who have penned these for other Scifanhors, or anyone who hasn't read from those genres but is willing to give them a try. The authors contributing to this volume have much to say about their love of the genres, as they create stories that are either original, or inspired by what they read, watched and/or listened to in the aforementioned media. Whether choosing to work on each genre separately or fuse them together; whether referencing old legends or creating something entirely new; whether deciding to scare, dazzle, teach, inspire or simply entertain you, the Scifanhors have gathered to deliver unto all readers the shadow of things past, the presence of things present, and the estimated shape of things to come.
All you Scifanhors out there, whose hands this book has fallen into, sit back and enjoy - and remember to share it with those who share your love for the genres!
