Magazine Cartoons
I am searching on WeBook for a few comedic writers to submit ideas for cartoons and accompanying dialogue. The cartoons are like those in newspapers and magazines, i.e. The New Yorker.
If I like the idea, put it to illustration and it gets published, the writer and I split the payment 50/50.
All that is needed to submit is a brief description. Example: A woman walking a big dog says to a man walking a little dog, “------.”
Keep it clean,
Bret

GIVE FEEDBACK
I like the humor in this work. It makes fun of the issues that we face today. The drawings fit the one liners and I hope to see more of them.
Though I like these little comic insights to journalism. I don't know if I would be able to come up with something straight away it may take a wee while. So I'll join because I like reading these things, but I wouldn't expect a submission from me just yet. I'm a wee bitty busy as I'm writing a sci-fi novel just now.
Hi. I wanted to explain my project in a few words. I draw the illustrations, and I need comedy writers to come up with humorous situations. It's like the cartoons you can see in The New Yorker Magazine or others. I pay the writer 50% of what I receive from the magazine that publishes the cartoon.
If the situations fit the genre of the Dr. Seuss-like setting I am trying to create, that is even better. I am in the process of posting a few new cartoons that writers have already submitted to me.
All someone has to do is send me something like this example:
Draw a basketball team mascot (in costume) in the team owner’s office where he is shocked upon being told that the coaches and players decided that the recent losses were his fault and he is being traded to another team.
And when it gets published and the check clears, they will get 50% from me. I promise. If it was good enough to do the drawing for, then I would want to work with that writer again.
