Melancholy solitude.
Often human beings have to face a reality which they never wanted to exist. It is then that we realise the pain of shattered dreams as each broken fragment pierces our hearts. it is then that we realise what it feels like to lose your own life and still continue living. And in these melancholy moments we struggle alone....nobody can comfort or support us. we fight reality only to lose and accept it....to accept our melancholy solitude and continue life......if it can be called life at all.

Oh man! He shall never return. So here I was, reading this poem and thinking to myself: "Okay, yes it's descriptive, it's love, a lost love, a boyfriend or a lover it has to be."
I'll admit I sort of went on into auto-pilot. Who doesn't describe the pain of lost loves and lost times and kisses and being held by someone, but it's only near the end that it finally came to full circle and was exposed for what is truly trying to be told. I read the last two lines at first as " Get me farther back" and I related to it, but that was my own mind trying to formulate what I expected. Upon reading the very last line I realized that I was incorrect it says " Get me my FATHER back." Blown away, all those words, the star shining in the sky. It's not lost love in the sense that we tend to think, no. It's not a lost love like I assumed after all. It's the lost love of a parent taken away.
You get my vote, undoubtedly. You just snapped me right out of my normal thought processes and now I've re-read it and all the cliches have been flipped. Forgive me for doubting you.

A little lengthy -- your sentiment rings true, but it feels a little belabored to me . . . still, there is an openness and sincerity that is appealing. Good luck!

Content:
The poem is about today's world.....the cruelty, the greed for money, the bondations of society, the struggle to live a dignified and happy life and the troubles of life.
Also, the poem deals with our inner fear when we just don't want to fight with the world against injustices.
There is an element of sorrow....of losing someone dear...of a void that remains in life when you lose a parent.
On the whole....the poem begins on a desperate note of feeling trapped and suffocated and sad.......it moves on to compare a dark forbidding forest to the big bad world outside...........then it speaks of the craving for bright sunshine and happiness.......and then, at the end, when the miseries are too much there seems only one hope........to seek refuge in God's arms.
The poem has come out from the heart and everyone can connect to it in one way or the other. It really makes us aware of the world we live in.
Imagery:
The poem evokes an image of a dark and oppressing forest with a little sunshine very far away, out of our reach.
