My Poetic Trilogy
I write poems for different reasons, not the least of which is to express my observations of the human condition. I enjoy writing poetry but I find it harder than writing short stories or novels, which comes much more easily to me. I hope my fellow WEbookers will find the three I’ve chosen for this voting cycle to be worthy of their vote.

Voted publish, My favorite is "A Haunting Moon" - I can't resist how you managed to rhyme Marcel Marceau in there and it is full by other powerful images. I also like "One Rainy Day" very much.

I have always found your work a joy, I am just not that organised or confident in critiquing other's work, if I see something I feel could work in a different way I try to share that, but to comment beyond the usual fantastic and beautiful remarks takes me out of my own basic poetry zone, often I just don't see the need for change, but I do read peoples work, including many of your own, anyway enough rambling from me, you chose very well for your 3, I would like to see rainy day get through, that was by far the best in my eyes, I wish you success, and leave you a thumbs up, Dante

Hi Lynn,
There is nothing wrong with leaving a link to your poems with your comment on someone else's submission. In fact, WEbook encourages it. We are a community of writers and, as such, are meant to be a community and reach out and share with others. Our votes are not the votes that decide what gets published. WEbook is a professional publishing company and the voting is done by their staff of critics and editors.
And, by the way Lynn, I had already voted to publish your work.
I hope everybody who submitted poems in the vote were generous enough to read all 44 pages of submissions and leave comments. I did, and I think it's our obligation as part of the WEbook community to do so. Especially if we submitted poems to the voting cycle.

I love these poems! One Rainy Day is AMAZING!
I agree that plugging your own project on someone else's page is somewhat dirty, however what are those of us on page 40 supposed to do to get people to notice us? No one goes through every page, and the person with the best poetry might be stuck in the back somewhere, never to be discovered. So, if you all like the flow of these poems, check out "The Poetry of Storytelling."

Actually Annabob, you are mistaken in thinking that that’s why we leave our links to our own poetry. The judging is done by Webook’s own judges. If that weren’t the case no one would bother entering. The only reason we leave links to our own work is so that we can share it with others. That’s what these writer’s sites are about; sharing and learning from one another.
I can't, in good conscience, vote for someone who leaves votes with a link on nearly everyone's submission just to get votes for him/herself.
I don't even have a submission. I'm just a fan of poetry and fair play.

Thanks for leading me to your poetry. Your play on words are great. The rainy day was especially mysterious. I really love how you played both parts and in the end it was actually just you all along.
The other two remind me of life's duty. It should be fulfilling, happy, and not so sad all the time. You write actuality which is most of our dreams never come true and the majority of those in life end up alone after having so many friends.

Heartfelt! You have an excellent sense of rhythm; your work flows beautifully. And the rhyme, when the poem has it, is never forced. Unlike the others, my favorite of these three is Longing. So bittersweet....

The tone of your work is extraordinary. It builds a story line and cascades into a decadent feeling of emotion as it catches readers on a live train of heartfilled expression and tenderness as not to over indulge but dramatically get your point across.

I love the emotions carried within them. The sense of loss but hope in the first along with the concept of time and true love or at least what we believe it to be,being the only thing that it cannot really erase.
The second also embodies time and sometimes our inability to accept the toll that it has taken upon us. I personally think the majority of us have what I like to call Peter Pan syndrome where even when we find our hands lined by time we cannot grasp it but if we did grasp it I don't think we would put in effort to do anything.
The last once more speaks of time and loss but a sense of hopelessness.
I look forward to reading more from you sir.

Very good work!

The form of all your poems works very well and you show you can write with rhyme and without. You manage to keep each poem well structured in its own special way.
Content:
I have to say 'One rainy day' is my favourite poem by far as its content is so rich.
You manage to tell the story so well and the twist at the end is brilliant.
Imagery:
You are very creative in your use of imagery.
'A haunting moon' is so rich in description and I can picture the scene perfectly.
In your other two poems in which you tell a story, I can picture the surrounding and emotions perfectly. This is very well done.

I'm in love with your poem "Longing" This poem has such a great flow. It has a flow of love, sadness, but also a dark edge to it. that is just great. love it when the words have their own voice.
Though I thought that the last stanza, where we find out who the speaker was referring to should be the opening stanza. But maybe re-thinking it again that is what made this poems good.
In the 3rd stanza first line the flow of words didn't sound to good. Consider something like this "The other day I saw you at the park," something amongst those lines would create a better flow.
I love your poem. Its so beautiful and descriptive.

A yes for publishing. Of the three my favorite is "A Haunting Moon," probably because of its richer imagery, conciseness, and its contemplative mood. I did appreciate your intro and I can see the ease you possess in story telling, especially "One Rainy Day," where you create a nice twist and tell a beautiful story. "Longing" uses very simple language and not a lot of imagery, yet it exceeds in the depth and honesty of feeling. Great work!

good poemes. I too enjoy'd the image of self realization in Rainy Day. While one can see the saddness wihing all three, I think that is mearly the outer display which hides the true depth and joy inside. The undying love and supporting of your love even though though that meant letting them go. And then while it is sad to say that w/o the one we love the moon itself has no glow, how grand must that love have been to make the ordinary become so much more. The moon may now be just a moon and no more then some rocks, but when seen by love and affection sure, the Moon itself will talk. There is far more than just sadness in these poems and it is nice to read. Good job.
