Herbert Norris has just died. But the afterlife is not all that it's cracked up to be, and what first seems a very small problem quickly grows and complicates into a would-be doomsday... or two.
Jim Newburn, on the other hand, is stuck with a very unwelcome guest in his life- a playful faerie. His world is turned upside down when he discovers the faerie court would now like him very much dead.
Lastly, there is Jake Coriander. Jake's toaster is doing strange things. As an obsession forms, outer forces come to play with (and prey upon) Jake and his new talent.
