Seeking Serenity...Still

My journey .... A single mom's struggle and pain, mixed with hope for a better future. A woman's battle of strength and resiliancy in the face of adversity.

My story is not uncommon... Poetry has been a way to express the pain and sadness that can sometimes threaten to consume me. A dysfunctional childhood, abusive adult relationship , death of my sister and becoming a single parent have all tried my strength of character and mind. I am happy to say I am surviving and even thriving !

Poetry has been a cathartic blessing, being able to connect with others who have gone through similar experiences like me.

I think the personal feelings in these poems comes through strongly: Confusion, longing and disappointment are themes with universal appeal. My favorite was "My Confession." It was weighty and shared a tone of being victimized.
