General:
Sounds interesting. I can't wait to read it. (Unfortunately I have to go to work right now, but I'll start it this afternoon).
I definitely like the idea of "Space gypsies" You see them a lot in Science Fiction, but they never get a nod as to what they really are.
Plot:
Nice basic introduction to it, hints of adventure without sounding cliche.

Sounds interesting buddy, im start reading it now. I am writing a science fiction novel also but not too techno also, it s more about young people coming of age, realizing the things of life.
