Madelyn Elizabeth Jansen was an average girl. Ok, maybe she was a bit above average, but since she was from a small southern town, to the rest of the world she was average.      Madelyn Elizabeth Jansen was an average girl. Ok, maybe she was a bit above average, but since she was from a small southern town, to the rest of the world she was average. She was a little over five and a half feet tall, weighed about 130 pounds, and was most commonly found wearing jeans and a t-shirt. She always had a Mountain Dew in one hand and a racket, glove, or some sort of ball in the other. She was one of the most athletic girls at her school, and she was going to play intercollegiate volleyball at small private college in Tennessee. She was smart, but liked to hide it. Instead she appeared to the rest of the world as a loud, obnoxious tomboy with a good personality. The one thing she wasn’t, however, was tactful. If “most sarcastic person ever” was an award, she would get it. She was more competitive than any other person in the universe, and loved God with everything she had. She had a few good friends, multiple ok friends, and a lot of enemies, but those came with the territory of being “the girl next door” and “an All-American girl”. Maddy was good at anything and everything she tried, with the exception of boys. She’d had her share of boyfriends over the years, but no relationship lasting more than a month. However, Maddy had been in love four times in her life by the time she was 19.

     Maddy's "first true love" was Lucas Richardson. Maddy had been in the 8th grade when they’d started dating, and though Lucas had been incredibly sweet and mature for his age, they were too young to last. The next three came during the course of her senior year and the summer that followed. To most people the idea of falling in and out of love multiple times in just one year seemed preposterous, but so it was for Madelyn Jansen.  Less
