My Husband's Passing
He died at the end of the summer. Surrounded by family, the wedding ring was placed on the bible and the priest held hands of the family members as they recited a prayer to send his spirit forward. His wife could not be at the funeral but her words were read aloud to the gathering while his closest friends stood by the casket. His mother lit a candle in the empty house. The wick danced in the silence. The lights flickered on and off for a moment. The curtain moved at the window as a cardinal came to the sill and pecked at the pane staring at the widow as if to alert her that she was not alone.

I’ll never fully understand,
Why any sane man would believe,
That an explosion could create,
All that exists to be conceived,
That almost 14 billion years has past,
Of evolutionary change,
We used to swing form tree to tree?
To me, That sounds a little strange!
So do they fully understand,
The inner workings of the mind?
Did they come across Pandoras’ box,
While excavating mines?
Or have they traveled back in time,
To watch the process of creation?
Maybe they've made contact with E.T.s’
From a parallel dimension?
Were they given sacred knowledge,
Of this existence and the stars?
Do they now know where we come from,
Why we’re here and who we are?
They're our top government officials,
The NSA and FBI,
They are the people whom have power,
Over people like you and I,
Or are they simply just mislead?
Unconscious soldiers for the devil,
A pawn in a war they’ll never win,
And fighting upon a subliminal level!
So, do they know not what is going on?
Or do they simply choose not to care?
Do they understand what happening here?
It’s called subliminal warfare!

The brown wood. The tinted shadow. The close regard of better men pass.
He lifts the dumbled pipe and shivers as his eyes glaze upon friends he knew.
" Why am I still here?!!!" he belches from his cuddling chair.
All frown and no light.
The brown wood of the window sill stays. He is alone at 98.
Moments of running wild in deep woods, in trousers no tear would blush, cry on his memory: when youth was his silent cuddle.
"Ohh..." he blasts. "Poor Henry...." as his life returns to the boy who never made a teen.
" Ohh...henry."
Which day to miss in all those days. By far that guilty one.
When an easy giggle to impress caught the wrong shy boy.
" Oh henry...I'm sorry.."

So has this opened back up in the post vote world?
Because I'm sure I could dig some more stuff up.
And ftw, I still think publishing this could be made of awesome, even if it requires something annoying like Lulu.

Definately Yes! This topic is near and dear to my heart as all of the unknown has so many doors and windows that few of us ever experience. There is a vast variety included in the works. I am proud to be included as one of the authors.
Inward and outward searchings to expand the heart and soul, definitely publish!
This is an amazing project book. I am so glad to be a poet included within these pages. The writers are all so unique, and
so is the poetry and stories. Good Luck my friend. Of Course You have My YES VOTE. I hope you are chosen for publication...

Amazing short stories and poems on the subject of ~~ THE BEYOND.
Views from the black hole of nothingness, to bright worlds of lovely dreams fulfilled and declarations of faith, to poetic leaps into the unknown to discover unique inspirations, this collection covers a wide range of emotion, thought, and spiritual longing about what may await each one of us after death of the physical body.
As these gifted writers show us, the end is far from being the end, showing instead a new beginning where many possibilities await the human spirit.
In Love and Peace,

From the beginning of time humans endeavored to explain the nature of death ,it is something that have been kept away from the scope of science and reason ,and then exposed to superstitions and fear.
some new studied about death by some quantum mechanics experts have been for some reason opposed by some religious regimes .those scientist claim that the supernatural obey to the laws of nature and physics and that the dead spirits or "ghosts" are made of the same sub-atomic particles..some scientists even claim to have talked to several ghosts ..in short for them even after death there is no devine intervention ,life goes on the same way it was and we obey to the laws of quantum mechanics even after death.

Thank you for putting all of the voting zones together and making them easily accessible.
So with all the recent additions here, I have to ask...is this opened up again or still closed? Because I'm sure I could work up some new additions if it's the former but I don't want to muck it up or anything...
I would like to give everyone who contributed to this project a heartfelt thank you !!! All of you are amazing writers.
I intend to submit the project for a Vote at the end of this week.
Therefore, I would much appreciate that you all look over your work carefully and make any editing changes.
Sincerely, Angela

as i slip into unconisness i burst forward into a spiral of blinding light that holds nothing and comes from nowhere. nevermore will i sit on the beach watching the waves crash or hike deep into the forest and listen to the slow and worryless song of birds whose lives or just a wing and a soul. A soul that does not think
Thanks for the invite....sounds very interesting but I don't think I'll be able to submit something before it closes. Maybe next time :)
well, i forgot about the freeverse. lol it's more like a short story. i'll add it soon, though. :]
i have an idea and i started the story =) it's called My Guardian Angel =) read it if u like =)
Thanks for the invitation. I'll think of something to write on this. By the way, do you want it in a poem form?

Very nice but I believe that we die because we are biological matter and everything biological or organic has to die. Sort of like the circle of life we have to be born and we have to die.
Thank you, Angela, for inviting me in this particular project. Let me see when I can contribute anything to this.
Wish you all success.
Wish you all success.
Oh ya,this is the kind of stuff I like to write about, I will definetly be puting some thing up here.
I have writings not poetry about my own personal glimpses to the other side. It is all around us, another dimension, another level of cosmic existence...vibrating to a different frequency I suppose.
I believe the souls within us are all connected somewhere else, similar to the Matrix where we are all dreaming a collective dream while her eon Earth in this form.
Ever met someone and loved them straight off, or felt an intense dislike straight off? You SOUL is what recognized the soul in the other person. Short stories soon to come,

There is always more, the spirit or the essence is never ending, the consciousness of the spirit does not end after death but is reborn, in that other dimension,it would be shallow of all to think that we are the only life form in all the vastness of the dimension, I believe we chart our lives, we face the challenges of this life to learn for god ,to experiance things for god, then we move on, but it is not over, the spirit will always linger, what happens after that is your choice.. whether to come back and live it over and face new challenges or to live in the paradise you vision.
Lol yikes i just made myself sound like an idiot ^^;
Forgot to read "Any form of writing welcome!"
I'll write something soon once i finish my exams.

I kinda suck in poetry because i only think up of things like...
House mouse spouse arouse clouse
pit hit knit lit
Uh..
If i could write a story i will definitely join.
Cause i think my imagination is better than my rhyming.

Oh poetry? I'll have to look to see if I have anything. Nothing comes to mind. I do have an unusually short story on this subject. But if I don't have any poems already written, I'll gladly pen one! :-)
An interesting topic. I don't know how good my submission is, because the whole idea of life and death, to me at least, is a mystery.
Hence, so is my writing on the subject. LOL!
Very interesting to see the debates it brings up though.

moff, I think the idea of this project is to be creative and original, and not just repeat what you've read in scriptures.
Yes I have read the Tibetan Book of the Dead myself! Much truth there I believe!
If your talking about personal consciousness..that's a crap shoot really..but I tend to think that there probably isn't.. or if there is it doesn't last long.
At least as long as you want to move on that is. If not there may be more unpleasant places to go..as far as the Tibetan Book of the Dead.says anyways, either way the ego has to be let go I think and thats where the term consciousness comes from.so with no ego there is no consciousness. Only being..
In the Tibetan Book of the Dead it describes the steps and conditions that happen after death, quite close to real life survivors stories of near death or after death experiences.
Interesting stuff really, I suggest anyone interested rent the movie 'Jacob's Ladder' awesome flick and parallels a lot of whats in the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
The book has been written by shamans or monks over the span of hundreds of years..they believe in reincarnation and that when you die if you've reached enlightenment, usually after many lives of learning things, you will become part of everything ..and nothing. From whence we came...
And other dimensions and beyond space and time? Most definitely ,all around us and inside of us. Parallel universes, lives and experiences galore. Thats all we really are actually. Our experiences.
Experiences that could really be anywhere, or nowhere, on a little microscopic speck in a minuscule solar system in a tiny galaxy among hundreds of thousands more...what else could we be and how could we possibly be alone in every way possible in such a vast conglomeration of being.

So far, I've been writing my submissions in this project as a continuous epic. Any suggestions whether I should continue?
Also, if we get published, I want them to be in consecutive order.

I can only tell you of my near death experience when I perforated after my gastric bypass surgery. I was literally dying 14 hours before I was taken back for the second surgery. I remember being so sick, weak, and frightened. It was then that a complete calm came over me and I knew there was a 80% chance I would not make it through this second surgery. It was just to much for anyone to have to go through in such a short time.I really didn't know if I would wake from this but I put my trust and faith in god, I remember saying God Please be with me I am frightened and I am too sick to do this alone. I remember as they lifted me onto the operating table it was like crawling into the darkness. It was odd I was not afraid anymore I was not cold anymore. I was crawling into the darkness into the cradling arms of god. I trusted him and as my mind embraced the darkness and I felt my way looking for the light, not being able to see anything in front of me a very serene mood succumbed me.Perhaps I participated in a mediatation, but I believe god gave me the faith and the hope and the calm to not fear even my own death. To this day I am no longer afraid of the dark, or of my own death.

I am reading/listening to a book: Life After Death: The Burden of Proof by Deepak Chopra MD.
His profound understanding of this topic is convincing, respectful and extraordinary. He is not opinionated or trying to convert anyone to his views. He tells it like it is, intelligently and sympathetically.
His background as a Doctor of Medicine, an expert in the knowledge of ancient Indian belief (Rig-Veda; Vedanta); Buddhism; meditation and a deep understanding of Christianity (he went to a Catholic Christian school in India as a boy) mean that he is able to encompass and represent wide aspects of this subject.
He is also an excellent writer - a poet - and his work is clear and easy to read.
To him, there is no doubt at all that our consciouness continues after the death of our material bodies.
He is utterly convincing.
