The Dividing Line
A man begging for death; for him there is nothing to live for. He is thought to have Munchausen's Syndrome by the uncaring nurse that tends to him. But it is only the trepdiation of what may lay post mortem. His suicide attempts remain that; just attempts. His goal was never the hospital just the morgue. He never can finish the whole pill bottle or eat the entire poisonious mushroom. He just dreams and plans and hopes for his death in need of a reason to live.

The Nurse, a woman who has seen much sadder stories and tended to men in much greater distress than the pathetic man in room 213, needs to share a story that has been shown to no one since her sister's death 19 years ago to express the guilt that burdens her. She must show him her sister's journal.
Both in need and find solice in the other. In silence they sit after the lights are turned off, long after the other patients have gone to sleep, and only the night staff roam the halls of the stale long term care unit of Pantition Creek Hospital. He reads and she remembers.
They are given a reason to live, for now. Less
