GIVE FEEDBACK
this kind of reminds me of the TV show Meerkat Manor. I love it and hope to get a copy soon. Also, you should add for teens, adults and animal lovers alike :)
I've read several versions of this great book as it went through its rewrites on the way to completion. Greg is a awesome writer who uses language so well. An amazing story, funny, moving and timely. Plus, really well-written with much attention to his craft!!!
Major congratulations to you!!! I am so happy for you and excited to read your book!
I agree with nrhatch, it keeps getting better. I can just see these guys running around - and the camels! They are the best! I am having fun reading this.
This is the first thing that has both the story and writing style that should be published. It will make a great movie. Excellent.
Wonderful! Your characters are leaping off the page! Their motivation is clear, and supported by the dialogue. Even without pages (yet), it's a page-turner. Well done!
This preface nicely sets the inspiration for the story, and gives context, however, I feel it may detract from what you are about to set out to do. I would recommend putting this blurb, well written as it is, to the end of the book rather than the beginning.
Greg -- I came back to have a second look, and am very impressed with your writing! It is excellent! Marvelous descriptions that carry the reader along with you. Also, wonderful imagery:
"The lieutenant shook loose the ribbons of wood chips and climbed the fencepost in much the way the senator had done. But whereas the senator's seat on the perch resembled some kind of sentry, like a guardian angel, the lieutenant's pose was as hard as stone, and he looked like a miniature gargoyle."
If all the writing is as good as the first chapter, this is definitely the book that WEbook should publish!
Way to go! nancy

First thing that strikes me is your book's authenticity. I'm loving the first few chapters, and promise to keep reading.
I really like this. I agree with the other comments - well written and has a big hook. I am very interested to learn how you tie the true events to this story. Nice characters too - am I actually starting to like a Rat? On to Chapter six........
-- OK -- so the hook is sinking deeper -- we have a rat (who is the bad guy --- as always--) and some other 'things' that we are learning about -- I wonder what the monarchy is about ? Why is it an icy palace -- what the heck is a tube ? I had no idea that grasshopper wings are legible...
It reads like a thriller but with animals. The animals make it more interesting than people because it's different - not the same old, same old. It was gripping right from the beginning - all that a thriller should be. Can you tell that I liked it?
