There must have been a bus, he was sure of it. The first image was of a shadow overcastting a bench and a sidewalk and a telephone box. But another memory, the memory of a wood fence with barbed wire and a large circus advertisement plastered on was just as vivid–thus controversy.  It was remarkable how simple a matter could evolve into a ravenous parasite, a parasite that began invading his mind, body, and soul upon the moment of its arrival. Such a memory should have been an easy subject to erase, but he found that it was not. It was either a fence or a bus–it could not be both, and surely he could not settle this internal battle by choosing one image over another. No–he could not play games and pretend it was so to console himself, for the doubt would weigh on his mind and he would have no peace. Yes, it was better just to wait–to wait and trust in the human mind, and predict that he should remember someday. To assume someday he should have such an ah-ha moment, and it would all be over.
