The Shadows Are Not Part of Me
I have been writing poems since I was 12 years old. It all started through music. Some lyrics in my favorite songs really had me thinking "That was clever" and from there I tried to be clever myself, writing a few thoughts here and there on a sticky note. Late night I found my sticky note collection on my night stand and decided to put them all together, and there was born my love for writing. Ever since, I've written many poems, most which I lost during my moving around from place to place.

I found, that through writing, there were no exceptions, no boundaries, and I could let my imagination and creativity run free. It all connected together for me, when I wrote my first poem in high school for a classmate, who found my little book of thoughts, and he asked if I could write him something for his girlfriend. When I gave him the poem I wrote in just a few minutes, his eyes lit up and he hugged me tight. I knew from there on, that writing would be my passion. I wrote a lot of dark poems, sad poems, and some love poems. But then I found just open writing was good for my hyperactive mind. I would always be thinking a million things, and sometimes it would not let me sleep. I kept a notebook by my bed, and I would just write anything that would come to mind. So, some of these poems, are just that. But all my poems are from my heart. Most of my writing portrays feelings of anger, hate,or love. I write about feelings, and try to describe them as best as possible.
I hope through my writing other people can feel what I went through in my life, and if there are things they don't understand, thats fine too, but just the fact that they read my poems, is enough for me.
Some of my writing is fictional, and is merely thoughts that were inspired through movies, songs, and events in other peoples life, which I added some details, and made it into more. The few stuff that is non-fictional is easy to distinguish I think. And if you can't tell fictional from non- then let your imagination take control even if only for a few moments. Also I write a lot of poems that have a lot of different meanings and are to be seen by the readers point of view. Maybe if they can relate to something, then they understand what I write in their own way. Less
