In the brutal land of Belegorn, deep within the forbidding forest lies the crumbling edifice of The Abbey of St. Agratha, home to an order of warriors and monks, known as The Brotherhood of Dawn, dedicated to defeating evil in all its forms .  One its greatest paladins, the brave and battle-worn Sir Theos of Dhen, has devoted his life to destroying evil, be it in the form of goblin hordes, the risen dead or a demonic witch-cult, he has fought bravely for many years.  His hair is grey, his face lined, and daily he imparts his wisdom upon the young recruits of the Brotherhood.

His latest quest sent him across the wilds of the land with a modest band of his best troops to hunt for Morova the Whisperer, the dreaded witch-queen, the Scarlet Lady of bedtime stories and legends.  For a month, two, he and his troops sought her out.  On a cold and rainswept afternoon he banged upon the door of the Abbey, half dead and alone.  Morova had gotten the best of them and she left their mentor to mourn them, and ssend the Brotherhood a warning.

In his obsession, for revenge and redemption, Sir Theos has left on his own to find the Witch Queen.  The priors of the Abbey have assembled what is left of the Brotherhood, the young, the untested, the battle-mad, to find Theos and return him home.
