Words on Empty Pages
Death, war, murder, abuse, work, love, loss, pain. All help make up the lives that so many live. In this collection of short stories, you will experience a brief moment during a surprise attack, the struggle of choice, love and loss, and a service on Christmas Eve. Each of these people have a story to tell, one that has a lasting impact on their lives.
GIVE FEEDBACK
There is a lot here that is very intriguing. It's solid writing, well-written, with good follow through. I couldn't help but think, though, that the teabag might need to steep for a while longer, so to speak. The stories are very good, but they feel like they need several more layers of complexity. For instance, The Death of Innocence would benefit from a sense of the larger context-- which war? Memories of Tomorrow needs similar backstory. Either there is something between the characters that we aren't seeing, or this encounter is much more mundane than the narrator seems to think it is. I would love to see these stories down the line somewhere, when they have been fleshed out and enriched a bit.
