Amanda (Little Girl Lost)

The prosecutor walked up to the witness stand, placing a hand over Amanda's hands that were grasping the witness boxes’ railing. He felt her relax. "Amanda, in your own words please tell this Court what happened in the woods?" Amanda cleared her throat. A confused look turned to one that sudden understanding of what he was talking about, and she said in a nervous but loud child voice. "I was lost. Then there were Angels."

What develops when we become hopeless? What follows when capable intelligent human beings, who have never engaged a crime, cross the line? When does sound reasoning stop and unexplainable irrational behavior start? A little girl becomes lost in the woods, thus begins a sequence of events in which a desperate husband and wife may find themselves as lost a child in the woods.
