my favorite were the firt two. I think partly because I am in the military. The second was my favorite. It's easier when there is a little bit of a tempo that the reader can follow. Good luck.

Great trio! "Ode to a Serviceman" stands out as the most appealing of the three because of its eloquence, clever use of alliteration, and the economy of words. It's like the essence of concentrated feeling contained in a tight glass bottle: the heart of what you wanted to say. Patriotism and respect for these wonderful men is greatly expressed here. "Thoughts on the Battlefield" has a simpler form and it achieves a lot in its few verses. Nice play with the elements, the stormy weather echoing the storm inside, the intense love. "Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder" is like a journey through life and with our interaction with the beauty of those we love, that shining light that allows us to see in the soul. These pieces are definitely worthy of publication....Great work!

I love the juxtaposition between love of country and love of wife in these three poems.
Imagery:

flags riffle, flap, wave and snap, and brave bones

I loved all three poems. I liked "Thoughts on the Battlefield" because of its simplicity and sincerity. "Ode to a Serviceman" is vivid in imagery and makes you grateful for the things you have thanks to other people and their willingness to sacrifice. And the last one, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" is touching because "the beholder" in this poem is a man with experience, a man whose eyes had witnessed many beautiful things and after many years see beauty in his wife.

The "Beauty is in the Eye..." poem brought tears to my eyes. Such deep affection is rarely described, because it is rarely experienced. Sadly most people never know such love.

Loved them all.
Especially the reminders of all that has gone before. Those that have died, those that have loved ... those that sacrificed all. Now just distant memories that cling forever within our minds and are never forgotten.

I loved these poems! Especially "Beauty in the Eyes of the Beholder"
It delved into what I've alwasy dreamed of, that one day someone will look at me and his heart will hurt because of how much he loves me [and I'm so happy to have met that man...I don't know what I would do without him] but one day I hope we can walk hand in hand on the shoreside, look at eachother and smile and know we had a good life. That is the feeling I got from your poem.
It was beautiful!

I have read all three of these poems and find them to be excellent and full of beauty and emotion. It's alway a pleasure to see such lovely thoughts so well-written in poems. They flow beautifully and they certainly touch the soul of the reader. It's beautiful, sensitive work.

Over all, the poetry is good, but it simply feels too rigid for me to enjoy. Maybe it's not the poetry - just me. I enjoy more rhythm-focused work, beat-poetry per say, words that flow mellifluously.
But the emotions you were wanting to convey, I believe, we're appropriately expressed, and that's all that matters.

The first two poems made me feel quite patriotic, and the third was an excellent and beautiful twist, moving away from the battlefield and flags and right into the homes of real people.
