I really love the voice of this piece, as though you are having a discussion with a confidant. The stark subject is well drawn without soppy sentiment. And the last line really shines. This piece is one of your best - glad to c it here.
Like Ellen C - I thought I had already commented and voted on this - it is a pleasure to experience your words again. These writings are of the sort that the reader discovers something more with each reading.

Thought I had already voted here, as well. I read your work, and feel like I'm sitting at your feet -- I so admire what you do.

I am afraid that this is beyond my ability to review. I have not the skill to poke holes in structure nor tear at the imagery.

I would like the voice of the social conscience be heard in the future poetry publication. I vote YES, publish.
Who are we to know how aboriginal people felt when displaced, separated, maimed and killed by the thousands?
Let us hear the voice of a native, then we can lower our heads in shame and weep (for the past arrogance and ignorance). Thanks to Labour we have said 'Sorry', sorry is not enough. We need action.
The physiological harm caused by the devastation of their habitat and way of life - as with the American Indian, and many other cultures - will last for generations.
This is a time of mourning for them, this we must understand; the sun will shine again with the coming of the 'Green Age' and the appreciation of the value of the land, water, air, and animals - our brothers and sisters.
I weep not only for the Australian natives, but for all true owners of this earth, all of us.

Wow, I forgot how good this stuff was. Good thing I came back to take a look. I remember reviewing the first couple, but the last is probably my favorite yet. =)

Definitely refreshing from the usual Anglocentrist
speak English or die belief system.
Better to make friends than ancestral enemies right?

Satyr, please do not withdraw your poems from the vote. It would be a huge loss; it is very hard to find quality poems, here, and if we want this voting process to yield anything beyond what will always be a popularity contest (inevitably), you should probably reconsider. I could honestly say that you have probably the strongest three set of poems out of what I have read thus far. You really have a strong flare and a larger poetic craft than you give yourself credit. Ignore the links that are spamming your feedback column; this practice will always be an inevitable cause when involved in this type of domain.
Don't lose patients and by the way, I voted yes.
Good luck.

Tuesday_rayne, the answer to your question is that I suspect that my submission is a "No" rather than a "Yes". Partially due to my ineptness as poet, partially due to the subject matter of my work and p;artially due to the fact that this has turned into an unseemly bartering for votes.
I do wish that you hadn't put that link here as it is part of what I akm complaining about. I know that you mean no harm by it, but I feel self-advertisement should be banned and I am seriously considering withdrawing from this contest.

You know I love your poems. Very thoughtful and well constructed, they are interesting on multiple levels. My favorite of these three is Dreamers, but Maralinga sticks in my mind as well. I hope you'll be published.

Three excellent poems, full of melancholy. Satyr, these are so different from your writings I've read elsewhere on webook. They give us an insight into your mind and heart that we wouldn't find in, say, the 50-word challenge forum. ;-)
You definitely have my vote, with your deep thoughts and questions left unanswered.

and with a unquestionable style and class.
