The intro could use some work (no need to piss off women right from the start--they might want to buy this book for their kid brothers or boyfriends) but I loved the bear fighting how-to and its sidebar. One suggestion--for the legal disclaimer, in addition to not condoning bear fighting you might want to disclaim responsibility for any deaths or injuries that occurred to anyone who actually tried this at home. (Take on a mamma grizzly defending her cubs and you'll be drinking your beers at Hooters through a tube. And, no, groin punches don't work on lady-bears.)
thats kinda got me thinkin... but its good

I'm commenting only on the chapter titled "Resuscitate Chivalry" (seems like all the comments get lumped together even though the writing varies widely in quality) This is good practical advice and a good clarification of the motivations of a truly "heroic" kind of guy.
Those who feel that it is chauvinistic for a man to know how to be a man are under-informed or maybe just pussies.
Sometimes a guy has to stand up.

Funny enough, though no Tucker Max or Neil Strauss. About as good as you'd expect with a loose anthology.
As long as no one is degraded in the book I am happy that men will finally know what to do with themselves with all the free time they obviously have to look at porn! One step toward being faithful and not animalistic I hope? According to todays media though....I highly doubt it.
What I really want to know is why this gets 64 votes, when true expressins of talent and skill get no more than 15 or 20. Seriously, who really needs to know how to make your sperm taste better?
Why would a book about men not be chauvanistic? How many books about women are not feministic? This book is quite good and worthy of reading. I'm not an avid reader, but I read quite a bit.
There's a lot of variety and a lot of genius writing involved. There are some crude things within it that obviously a woman would be offended by, but so what? LOL. Look at the title for crying out loud. It...was...written...for...MEN. :P

LOVE IT! Being a southern girl I struggle with the so called death of chivalry. I like to be treated appropriately and even value help from a kind gentleman when I need it. Though more often than not I just want someone to offer to help and am likely to refuse the offer. the rules you laid out are perfect. They are well thought out and simple. Kudos to you for getting it!
All in all I like this project. I feel there are some subjects that haven't been discussed, so I don't get the feeling it's a finished product yet.
I am an ardent supporter of this project and its creator. Brilliant idea, wonderfully crafted. Good job everyone!!!
Have you ever met my father? I thought he was the only one who behaved like this.
I’ve followed this project for most of its journey (laughing all the way) and I have a few thoughts:
1. Mr. Man tip, if you’re listening, I will marry you!
2. I’m impressed with how comprehensive this turned out to be. A few weeks ago I didn’t think it would be ready, but the TOC proves otherwise. Having said this, the Introduction mentions that this could be a like a textbook. THIS is a great idea, but I wonder if you can pull it off. As off right now there are only 2-3 submissions with side tables and charts and things like this. And that fact that you used lists to add up to 101 makes me think this has to be published more as a textbook than a standard book of essays. Right? If it could be done like that Jon Stewart book on democracy, it would be excellent. And thinking ahead: you could do several volumes of this. Once you have the formula down, there’s no telling how far it could go. But it’s going to need more flavor, like fun illustrations and little quizzes to go with each piece. Then I would buy it for my husband (but I might black out the piece on avoiding chores )-- he would love it!
3. From a female perspective, I’m happy there are several submissions by women. Let’s face it: guys need our help, and the advice offered in this book is spot on in most cases. (The article about foreplay is genius). And sure, there’s going to be some offensive/off the wall stuff, but it’s a book for GUYS. And going back to Mr. Man, his pieces alone are worth my vote.
Thanks.
PS: nice categories. This breaks the book up well.

I think this project is one of the best on the site. The submissions are hilarious and in good spirit! It truly embodies the concept of the collaborative writing process!
I love the introduction, it is very funny and light-hearted. I never knew guys sat around talking about this type of stuff. I guess that is why people say, "Behind every successful man, there is an AWESOME women! "
GREAT submissions in this project! I really appreciate the wit and humor. Good luck!

I didn't. It seems to all be in good fun, and it is written for a male audience, right? Some of the essay are downright hilarious (Mr. man), and others are just really good (holy bear fights). Nice work on this project.
I feel like it's not ready yet. Like, it has some good stuff, but I'm not getting the "gold" vibe yet. I think that if we waited till the next cycle, more submissions and polishing up current ones would be for the best.
Never mind. I think I have figured it out. My plan is to "Start a Now Article" and name it "BIO: rlamoni".
I think it sounds like a fun idea, although it's getting a little played out, what with all the guides and stuff being published now. You'd have to do it up right in order for it to succeed.
