NaNoWriMo is a great opportunity to get stuck in to that book you've always wanted to write, or perhaps draw some attention to one that you've already written...

For our NaNoWriMo Challenge this month, we'd like to offer you something a little different.

We would like to use the last two months of this year - so November and December - to hopefully pick the next WEbook to publish, and what's more - we need your help...

In our NaNoWriMo challenge, we are asking you to submit the best 1,500 word snippet from a book you've already finished (or nearly finished...) as your entry to this challenge. You will also need to include a synopsis, or blurb - depending upon what you think best recommends your book - and if you've got some cover art, feel free to include that as well!

If you have the full book up on WEbook already - or you want to put it up for this challenge - you can absolutely add a link to the bottom of your challenge sub to direct people there. The only stipulation for linking to the full book is that it's got to be a WEbook project.

Now, here comes the fun part. We want you guys to pick who the final winner is. The WEbook judges will select six finalists, and from there we will put it to a public vote. Voting will be open for the whole of January, so there'll be plenty of opportunity for you to read through all the entries and make your selection.

So, the next question we need to answer is 'What IS WEbook publication?'

It's a good question - and the first thing we'll point out is that it's not traditional publication. What WEbook will do for you is provide you with a book, a platform for sales, a Print-on-Demand setup and the ability to get the book printed in any of our four global print locations (you'll need to pay for any books you print over and above the free author copies, but you can get these at cost price as the book's author).

You can have as much or as little free promotion on our social media channels and as you'd like (within reason!), but what WEbook won't do is run a publicity campaign for you.

If your book is selected as the challenge winner, we will provide the following as part of the prize:

- Proofreading by a professional proofreader
- Cover design
- Typesetting
- Hardback and paperback format file setup
- Print-on-Demand setup
- Availability in the WEbook Store
- eBook conversion
- 10 complementary author copies

We'll pop the winner on a contract ('cos legally we have to) but the terms of this can, and we think should, be individually negotiated. Take a look at our current contract here: []

What we want is to give a great author the opportunity to get their book in print. If you think that sounds like you, then pop your entry up here for the WEbook community to decide if you should be the next WEbook author.

If you've got questions, you can always inbox me directly, or post on the NaNoWriMo forum here:

Happy writing and good luck!

The (somewhat) Fine Print:

WEbook will shortlist 6 entries. From which, the WEbook community will vote to select one that is the most deserving of this month's prize.

We'll also highlight each story on the blog and see if anyone tries to buy it. If they do, we'll tell them it's a real deal and that they'll have to pay for it!

Note #1: WEbook may not take into account the user ratings when deciding who will win the challenge. We read each submission carefully, and decide the winners based on our own judgment.

Note #2: There is sometimes a word count discrepancy between MS Word and WEbook's word count editor, causing authors' entries to appear to go a few words over the limit. Don't worry about this! We are aware of the issue and a few extra words will not affect our consideration of your writing.

Note #3: Only two submissions per person, please (you can, however, revise up until the deadline - in fact, you should!).

Note#4: These terms and conditions together with any specific rules set out in prize draw notices (as defined below) are the rules and apply to this WEbook Challenge.

Note#5: The Challenge is open to all registered users of WEbook, and runs from 8th November 2016 until 10 pm EST on 31st December 2016, 2016.

Note#6: In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a competition, the decision of WEbook shall be final.

Note#7: By entering the Challenge, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current, original and complete. WEbook reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all submissions.

Note#8: Gaming or manipulating the voting process is not allowed and any votes deemed to have been cast in such a manner will be discounted. WEbook's decision in this matter shall be final.

The rules are simple, yet the results should be anything but.

Good luck and happy writing!
